Insanity.

So . . . yesterday, I applied to Covenant Seminary’s M.Div program (even though  I already know that’s not the degree I’ll end up with — I have a plan).

The day before, I applied to Western Governors University’s BS in Information Technology program.

For at least some of the time, I’ll be working on these degrees simultaneously.

No, I’m not completely insane.

You’re not completely insane yet.

If you don’t want an MDiv (just finished my on Friday) what do you want? ThM? PhD?

Do you already have a Bachelors? Duh, obviously or you wouldn’t be apply for the MDiv. What’s that in?

I’m asking a lot of questions today, aren’t I?

Actually, Tim . . . it’s pretty convoluted. Here’s the deal.

I’d love to earn an M.Div from Covenant, but that would involve moving to campus in St. Louis, and that’s just not something we’re ready to do now. So, I’m planning on earning a MA in Theological Studies instead, which can be done completely via online/distance education (except three one-week periods that I’ll have to be in StL for orientation, a project, and thesis presentation).

But, right now I only have an Associate’s degree, and one has to have a Bachelor’s to get into the MATS program. They WILL, though, make a limited number of exceptions for the M.Div program (which can be started online, but not finished there). So, I’m going to start out as an M.Div student, finish my BS from WGU, and then transfer from the M.Div program to the MATS.

SO . . . there you go. That’s the plan, anyway. Completely nuts. :-)

You seem to be good at doing crazy amounts of study (which I don’t have the attention span for). Much luck!

I tried double majoring during my undergrad, which didn’t work because of my top priority… being a drunken idiot. :)

I think it’s that the “professional student” genetic trait that I picked up from my Dad (who also double-majored in undergrad and has four degrees that I know of — probably more, though) has finally decided to wake up in me.

Brings tears to my ears to hear you say such lovely things…was hoping the tendency would remain dormant and maybe skip a few generations…but you’ve always been a quick study…get over it just as quickly …my prayers are with you…just kidding - no - not about the prayers…you are starting at the best of all places - confusion in going hard after God is probably not the most terrible thing in the world - I believe He has and will bless and direct your path - Ask Him out loud, without ceasing, and search the Scriptures even louder for His answers…I’m proud of you. - what’s your name again?

Love Ya - Merry Christmas - Tell Amy and the Baby I said hey.
