		<description>South Beach is an awesome diet, and I had some great success with it when I was on it - but the recipes can get fairly pricey.  

 Weight is something I&#039;ve battled with for a long time, and the only lasting success I&#039;ve had in dropping off the pounds is focusing on changing my lifestyle into a more healthy one rather than focusing on losing the weight.  I hate the running/walking thing too - so swimming and water aerobics are my choices of exercise.  It makes exercising fun!</description>

		<description>Dangit Rae.  Now you got me on a guilt trip.  And to top it all off I read this post AFTER I got my new driver&#039;s license and compared it to my old license picture and declared myself a lard ass.

I am 6&#039;-4&quot; and am tipping the scale at about 260 right now.  I want to get to 210.  About 4 or 5 years ago I successfully went from 250 to about 215 in about 8 months but I did it the hard way.  Only eating fruit, veggies, chicken and fish - no dairy, no bread, etc.  Running 3 times a week and weights twice a week plus one night of hoops and one night of softball.

The reality is that I am not disciplined enough to keep that up.  I like steaks and chocolate too much.  I absolutely ABHOR running unless it is done during a sport.  So I am hoping to maybe do something like that diet I did before except give myself one or two nights a week for steak and dessert.  I think I may be able to handle that.  As for exercise.....I just need to nut up and start going back to the gym again.  That&#039;s just one of those things I need to make myself do until it becomes a habit.

It sounds like we need to have our own little contest with among your readers.  Several of us are looking at losing 30-50 pounds.....maybe a contest could help motivate us.</description>
