The calvinists will just move on ... their theology will naturally result in the elevation of the preached Word over the current Southern Baptist reliance on 'personality' based church growth. Church growth oriented churches, through manipulation and entertainment, will attract some sheep and lots of goats. So calvinistic churches, providing less 'entertainment', will attract smaller crowds. A realistic calvinist will see that in the SBC bigger churches have a greater vote. Calvinist churches, who focus on feeding the sheep, will naturally be smaller and not likely to gain enough power in the convention to support meaningful reform. Nah, I don’t see a split.
