Podcasts of Northbrook messages

I’m a geek.

Inspired by an invitation to Odeo yesterday, I decided to try to create a “podcast” feed for Northbrook’s sermons. After a little bit of poking around the Flash applet on the “Messages” page, I was able to find the paths to the audio files. After that, I just had to create a blog and a Feedburner to “house” the RSS feeds, and it looks like it’s up and running!

Here are the links . . .

Yay! This is very helpful because I was quite disappointed that I wasn’t able to download messages. I thought that was going to be the point of putting the messages online! Urgh!

Thanks Rae, you geek!

Geeks are our friends! :-)

I just e-mailed William Donnell and invited him to use the podcast on the website. Of course, it could be that the messages aren’t SUPPOSED to be downloadable, and that’s why he has the Flash-based player on there.

I guess we’ll find out when he writes me back/IMs me. :)

I’m just glad that the site is up (a work in progress I guess) and that it is updated.

I don’t think some people realize how important a Web presence is. I search for businesses/churches online, and I’m sure many people these days do. What’s interesting to note, since I greet at NB on occassion, people have told me that they found Northbrook via my blog!

I think that is sad…the church site should come up first when people do searches, and that is what is finally starting to happen! Yay!

It has amazed me that NB, always trying to be “progressive” and on the “cutting edge” seems to lag behind in the technology department.
