I suppose I’ll start this thing out with a brief synopsis of myself, so you can get a general idea of who I am and where I’m coming from. Naturally, I’m subject to change, but for now . . .

I’m Rae, a somewhat “normal” 20-something-year-old guy.

I work as a computer technician for a rather large financial corporation. I’m married to Amy, and we have a terrific 16-month-old daughter, Zoë. As for some random tidbits: I have a strong affinity for (or obsession with) coffee and espresso, I keep up with professional wrestling, I watch the Law & Order shows religiously, I listen to good music, I play the piano, I’m fairly reserved socially, I use Mozilla Firefox, and my Apple iPod’s name is “Amadeus.”

As was said in my previous post, the primary focus of this blog will be on things theological (for my “regular” blog, click here), so it’s appropriate here to say that I am (or try to be) a believer-follower of Jesus Christ; that is, a “Christian.” I was fortunate enough to have been raised in a Christian-influenced environment. If I have a time that I can say that I formally acknowledged Christ’s lordship, I’d say it was when I was around six years old. (Not that a six-year-old can fully comprehend such things, but can adults?) I experienced something of a “crisis of faith” at the age of seventeen after my mother’s death and for the first time, truly committed myself to Christ and his Church. I lived the typical “evangelical youth group subculture” life for a while: CCM, “kissed dating goodbye”, youth ministry intern, etc. For a while, I even felt that I might’ve been “called” into full-time ministry as a career. (Oddly enough, that never completely went away, and is actually coming back after eight years of silence.) After moving past the campy youth group life and wandering for a little while, I feel like I’m finally finding my place in the body of Christ.

As of now, I’d describe myself as an evangelical Reformed Baptist with some very slight Anglican-Catholic Presbyterian leanings (particularly in regards to corporate worship and the Sacraments). As said above, I’m subject to change, and hopefully the only changes will be God-wrought.
